A lovely day in beautiful surroundings - and some fantastic prints. 

We had a lot of fun playing around with ways of adding other colours top a print without using the reduction technique. 

Lino Printing Workshop at Skelton Grange

I'm running a  lino printing workshop at Skelton Grange in Leeds on the last Saturday in March. We'll be creating nature inspired linocuts. The course is suitable for the complete beginner or the more experienced, as I will try to enable anyone to progress from where they feel that they are with linoprinting. It costs £30 including materials and refreshments. Nonsense Poetry Bird Linocuts!

For the Off the Press Festival I made two linocut prints based on nonsense poems about birds - poems we had recited to us by my Dad as kids and knew by heart! 

The Cormorant poem is by Christopher Isherwood. The Pelican poem is by Dixon Lanier Merritt - facts I only found out when researching for the exhibition! 

These are photos of the prints as they are too big for my scanner - hence the slightly wonky colours. 

Off the Press Festival

Linocut printing workshop at Potteric Carr

We had a lovely day printing at Potteric Carr with a woodpecker making a guest appearance on the feeders outside. The workshop was only three hours long but despite this, everyone produced a fantastic print, which was impressive seeing as no-one had done any linocut printing since school!

Woman on Beach is the partner of Man on Beach. I sold the man twice over an the exhibition, but without his other half!

Exhibition....

I put some work up in the Sharrow Community Creatives exhibition that Lu Golob organised at the Old Junior School. It was a great event and I managed to sell six prints, so pretty happy about that!
